Hiya, I’m Batfink!
I’m a Staffy cross boy who is 1 year old. I am currently living in Orkney and it’s great here – there’s lots going on and so much to learn! I’m still a pup so I’m learning something new every day: They say my forever home should be pet free as I’m still learning and sometimes don’t understand what I’m supposed to do, but I could possibly live with another doggy if we were introduced very slowly to see how we find each other… I can get excited and jump up to greet new people but I’m good and if I’m corrected I can stop.

When we go out walking I’m on the lead as I might get too excited exploring and sniffing; I might just not come back which would be very sad; also when we go walking, we can walk past another dog as long as my human says the ‘LEAVE IT’ command, so I understand that not all doggies want to play with Batfink. I can pull a little on my lead so the humans say it’s best to use a harness as well to keep me safe, as I just get excited, but I am learning to walk to heel. They say I’m getting really good at this, but I still need some training as I’m only 1 year old and it’s probably a good idea to keep me on the lead in my new home unless we are in a secure area that I can’t get out of and get lost.

It’s a “no” to the small furries I’m afraid, humans, as I just don’t know what to do and again can get over-excited, because I’m still a pup I’m better with older children from 10 upwards. That way, if I do get super excited they can tell me to calm down and I will listen. I enjoy my food – I ain’t that picky either! I like to sit for my dinner and breakfast. I’m probably really tired if we have been out to play with a tennis ball, as I love playing fetch which helps me keep my energy at bay. I like rag toys and squeaky ones too!

I can sit and give a paw for a treat – again I’m not fussy – I just love to please the humans and show how clever I can be! With some more training and patience, I can also show you I’m a clever boy by staying at home if you need to go out, but no longer than 4 hours or I might have a mishap on the floor as I’m still trying really hard with my house training skills. I know I can do it. When it’s bedtime, I love my bed and blankets to cosy into and have a good night’s sleep I don’t usually wake for the toilet either, so I am getting to be a clever boy.

I love water, so a shower and a good rub dry works, as I’m short-haired and don’t take much grooming really. I enjoy being here at Orkney as I am learning so much, but we think I could do so much better in a family home and I would love this very much. I’m a very affectionate, loving pup who still has lots to learn: Maybe you could teach me how to be a clever boy and I could you teach you how to fall in love with a Batfink? I would love nothing more than to have my own humans who are always happy to see me… is that you? Are you my forever home?? I really hope so! If you think you can love the Batfink and teach him lots of things please contact the humans – I’m ready and waiting. I can travel in a car if I have my ‘safe space’ so you can live anywhere in the UK really. Lots of puppy kisses,
Batfink xx
